I’m Chiara. I’m twenty-three years old, and am a Masters student of Spanish and an Ertegun Scholar at the University of Oxford, about to begin a PhD in Comparative Literature at Stanford University.
This blog contains a lot of posts about applying to Oxford, so if you’re interested in studying at Oxford then you’ve come to the right place! At the moment, though, I use this blog as a platform for my original writing. I write creatively, generally a kind of poetic prose, often using my own experiences and observations as a springboard. I am hoping to strengthen my writing skills and eventually broaden the reach of my work, so critique and feedback are always welcomed.
I am interested in a lot of topics, including race, world literature, the idea of the canon, and identity, but my main fascination, academic and otherwise, is with the concept of love. Right now, I’m thinking about ars amatoria and how we have relied on texts to tell us how to love over time. If you write or read about love, and have any recommendations for me, do get in touch.
I am not currently taking products to review, but that is likely to change once I am fully settled in California. I’m a very PR-friendly blogger and have a keen understanding of how best to present a product to a variety of different audiences. I love working with brands who are passionate about their products, and am quick to suggest new and creative ideas for collaboration. If you’re a brand and interested in working with me, check out my Contact & PR page for more information.
